Homemade Sandwich Bread Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons Turna Extra Virgin Olive Oil

  • 1 teaspoon salt

Sandwich Filling Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup Turna Extra Virgin Olive Oil

  • 3 tablespoons green pesto sauce

  • 150 g white cheese, crumbled

  • 1/4 cup walnut halves, roughly chopped

  • 1/4 cup sun-dried tomatoes, finely chopped

  • A handful of fresh arugula

  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced (optional)

Sandwich Bread Preparation:

  1. Activate the Yeast: In warm water, mix in the sugar. Add dry yeast and let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.

  2. Knead the Dough: Add flour, salt, and Turna Extra Virgin Olive Oil to the yeast mixture. Knead until soft and elastic.

  3. Let it Rise: Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.

  4. Shape and Bake: On a lightly floured surface, shape the dough into long rectangles suitable for sandwiches. Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 20–25 minutes. Let the bread cool completely.

Sandwich Assembly:

  1. Prepare the Pesto Mixture: In a large bowl, combine crumbled white cheese, walnuts, and sun-dried tomatoes. Add Turna Extra Virgin Olive Oil and pesto sauce. Mix until all ingredients are well combined.

  2. Assemble the Sandwiches: Slice the cooled bread horizontally. Spread the pesto-white cheese mixture evenly. Add arugula and red bell pepper slices.

  3. Serve: Serve the sandwiches immediately or wrap them in plastic wrap to keep fresh.
