Ingredients:

  • 6 sheets of güllaç (starch-based wafer leaves)

  • 1 liter milk

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 tablespoon rose water (optional)

  • Half a tea glass of water

  • 1 tea glass crushed walnuts

  • 1 tea glass pomegranate seeds (optional, for garnish)

  • 1 tsp vanilla powder or extract (optional)

  • 1 tablespoon rose petals (optional, for garnish)

Instructions:

Place the milk in a large pot and add the sugar. Heat the mixture, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Once dissolved, add the rose water and vanilla (if using), mix, then remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

Place the güllaç sheets in a large tray or dish. Pour some of the milk mixture over each sheet, one at a time, allowing them to soften and absorb the liquid.

Place the first softened sheet on a serving dish and sprinkle with crushed walnuts. Add a second sheet on top, sprinkle more walnuts, and continue layering until all sheets are used.

Pour the remaining milk mixture over the top layer and garnish with walnuts. Optionally, decorate with pomegranate seeds and rose petals for a festive touch.

Refrigerate the dessert for at least 2–3 hours before serving.

Enjoy!
