Ingredients:

  • 1 cup chickpeas (soaked overnight in water)

  • 1 small onion, chopped

  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed

  • 1/2 cup fresh parsley, chopped

  • 1 tsp cumin

  • 1 tsp coriander (optional)

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

  • 3 tbsp Turna Extra Virgin Olive Oil (for the mixture)

  • Extra 1/4 cup Turna Sunflower Oil (for frying)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Chickpeas: Drain the soaked chickpeas and process them in a food processor until they form a smooth paste.

  2. Make the Mixture: Add the chopped onion, garlic, parsley, cumin, coriander, salt, pepper, and 3 tablespoons of Turna Extra Virgin Olive Oil to the chickpea paste. Blend until the mixture is uniform.

  3. Shape the Falafel: Take small portions of the mixture and roll them into walnut-sized balls.

  4. Fry: Heat Turna Sunflower Oil in a pan and fry the falafel balls until golden brown on all sides.

  5. Serve: Serve hot. Pair with yogurt sauce or tahini sauce if desired.
