Ingredients:

For the Cake:

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 cup yogurt

  • 1/2 cup Turna Sunflower Oil

  • Juice and zest of 1 orange

  • 1.5 cups semolina

  • 1 cup flour

  • 1 packet baking powder

  • 1 packet vanilla

For the Syrup:

  • 2.5 cups water

  • 2 cups granulated sugar

  • Juice of half an orange

Instructions:

Prepare the Syrup:
In a saucepan, mix the water, sugar, and orange juice. Stir until the sugar dissolves, then bring to a boil. Let it simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes. Remove from heat and let it cool to room temperature.

Prepare the Cake Batter:
In a mixing bowl, beat the eggs and sugar with a mixer until creamy. Add the yogurt, Turna Sunflower Oil, orange juice, and orange zest. Mix well. Add semolina, flour, baking powder, and vanilla. Stir until the mixture is smooth.

Pour the batter into a greased baking tray. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 30–35 minutes, or until the top is golden and a toothpick comes out clean.

Add the Syrup:
Once the cake is baked, pour the warm (not hot) syrup evenly over the cake. Let it sit for 15–20 minutes to absorb the syrup completely.

Serve:
Once fully absorbed, slice the cake and garnish with orange slices if desired.
